Physiotherapy
At the Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic our extensively trained Registered Physiotherapists use a targeted, individualized approach to promote movement and speed recovery from joint, muscle and nerve-related pain and injury.
We recommend physiotherapy for injuries or imbalances of the soft tissues or joints that cause pain, restrict everyday activities or change your posture. It is beneficial in the prevention of injury or repetitive strain injuries. Our therapists can help you manage cancer-related pain, limitations of function and post-surgical rehabilitation
Our extensive experience allows us to find solutions when your recovery is complicated by pre-existing issues or co-existing health concerns i.e. neurological conditions, spinal surgery, etc. Our physiotherapists use a multimodal treatment plan which may consist of joint mobilizations, rehabilitation exercises, soft tissue therapy, joint manipulations, and acupuncture. They collaborate with your other healthcare providers at the Orthopaedic Therapy Clinic (chiropractors, massage therapists, kinesiologists) to ensure you are receiving a complete circle of care.
At your initial appointment, your physiotherapist will complete a detailed health history regarding your conditions, followed by a physical examination. Based on your history and physical exam, your physiotherapist will communicate a treatment plan catered specifically for you. Your treatment duration and frequency will be individualized based on your goals and conditions.
If you are booking on-line, please choose whether you want a virtual appointment (Telehealth) or an in-clinic appt (Physiotherapy Private). Contact us, by phone 416-925-4687, to book if your injury is a result of a car accident (MVA) or a work related accident (WSIB).
Osteopathic Manual Practitioner
10% discount on your first assessment for the month of October. Book Now!! Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that considers the human body a complete unit, and treatments are founded on the belief that the body’s has an inherent ability to heal itself. The practice is known for its holistic approach, which addresses the entire body and its interconnected systems, rather than just focusing on symptoms.
By finding and treating abnormalities in the function of affected structures, practitioners can often help to restore or improve the function of the whole body. Our Osteopathic manual practitioner provides comprehensive treatments that include gentle and controlled soft tissue mobilizations to correct imbalances in the structural elements of the body. They often work on joint motion, muscles or fascia to improve circulation, lymphatic drainage and nervous impulses that will improve or restore function across the whole body.
Osteopathy is a versatile therapy that can benefit a wide range of patients. It is particularly effective for those suffering from:
Chronic Pain: Patients with ongoing pain conditions, such as lower back pain, neck pain, or arthritis, can find relief through osteopathic treatments. The gentle, hands-on techniques help to reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall function.
Musculoskeletal Disorders: Osteopathy is highly beneficial for those with conditions affecting the muscles, bones, and joints. This includes sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, and postural problems that can lead to discomfort and restricted movement.
Headaches and Migraines: Tension headaches and migraines are often linked to neck or upper back tension and stress. By addressing the underlying musculoskeletal causes for these imbalances, osteopathy can help reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.
Recovery from Injury: Osteopathy is also effective in helping patients recover from injuries, whether they result from accidents, sports, or overuse. By promoting better alignment and movement, osteopathy supports the body’s natural healing processes.
One of the strengths of osteopathic manual therapy is its ability to complement other healthcare treatments. In a multidisciplinary clinic like ours, osteopathy can play a significant role in your recovery plan.
